... or more than one as it turns out.
Our club had the idea to start a 'Tale of X gamers' with the arrival of WHFB 8th edition. The plan was to make an army of about 2500 points in around 6 months.
First I thought about starting a new army. Tomb kings would be great as I already have the army and I always wanted a skeleton army. Skeletons was the first thing I saw many moons ago that got me interested in Warhammer and wargames in general, but that's a whole other story.
Then reason stepped in. I have half of a Dwarf army and half an Ogre army and I decided to make both armies into complete playable 2500 points. A wise decision if I say so myself.
So, the Dwarfs you've seen in my previous post. I already started a few single models, a canon, an organgun and a spearthrower.
At the same time I'm preparing the rest of the Dwarfs I need and the models of the Ogre army that I need to complete that army. I will take some pictures when I have the time.
But first something else: I have one more day of work and then nearly 3 weeks off! Yay!! I'll be traveling to the UK to visit a couple of Wargames shows (The other Partizan and Colours) and hopefully will have time to stop by Maelstrom Games, Games Workshop HQ and maybe even Wargames Foundry. The rest of the time that I'll be in the UK will be spend reading and resting in the New Forest national park. Hopefully that will give me the energy and inspiration I need to finish the armies and also do the other stuff I really want to do. The Sudan project is one and a 40K project will be the other. I just haven't decided which one it will be yet. Either an Ork project with loads of nice Forge World miniatures in it, or it will be a Space Wolf army (or two) because I would like to paint some of those. I'll decide when I get back. But first vacation !!!!

Dwarfs it is
One of my most favorite armies in Warhammer Fantasy battle are the Dwarfs. Especially the old classic models.
Since at our club we're going to do a Tale of X gamers for Fantasy and I already have half of an army painted, I decided I would complete the Dwarfs to a playable army and then do the same with my Ogres. That while my clubmates all start new armies and make them into a playable size.
So, here we go. First a list of the units I already have more or less done. Most of them will need some work, be it a bit of painting or swapping one or more miniatures in the unit. In the end I will do all the bases in one go (at least, that's the plan at the moment).
Quarrelers 1
Quarrelers 2
Characters
1 Lord or Thane and 1 Runelord or Runesmith
Grudge thrower (with some slayers in the background)
Thunderers
Gyrocopter
That's all I had done until now.
Last week I started on a unit of Hammerers
And sometimes I splash a little paint on this model which is far from finished
All in all it's only the start of the army and it will take many moons before it's all done.

Restart
It is time that I really should do something with this. I started (which I'm good at), but I didn't follow through :( (as usual).
So, let's give this a try.
I've just had a month without painting. I was a bit tired of painting around 225 Sudan miniatures at once and since the deadline for that project got pushed back (I think it's early October now) I decided to stop for a while. During that time I decided, after a lot of thinking, I would see if I could sell my house and buy a bigger one. Only to do that I need to have a lot of preparation:
- throw away a lot of unwanted clutter
- get most of my lead-pile into plastic boxes and into my parents attic
- get a lot of my other stuff into cardboard boxes and into my parents attic
- re-arrange the rest of the stuff in my house
- clean, clean, clean
So that's what I'm working on now :)
Next to that I'm thinking about finishing 2 half-build Warhammer Fantasy armies, a short holiday in September, and finishing up the afore mentioned Sudan stuff.
So yup, I keep myself pretty busy ;)
P.S. Jase, you'll probably be the only one to read this (I'm not advertising for it). Get your ass in gear and get painting. I want you to start indjuns and show me you can finish something worthy in a normal amount of time. So that we can do a nice small project together....

Day 1
Welcome if you read this!
I wouldn't know why you would come here, because I just made this page to experiment a bit with. Maybe I'll even put something sensible in here some day.
It would be great if I could get myself to paint some miniatures and publish some pictures here in the hopefully not so distant future, but most of the time that's not how it works out for me.
